I posted a Diary a few days back about MSNBC's refusal to run an anti-gun ad. They have relented and decided to air it. Thanks for your emails (if anybody sent them). Here Is what I wrote a few days back:
"
Mayors Againss Illegal Guns, a group created by Mike Bloomberg, is attempting to air the anti-gun ad on MSNBC. Sadly MSNBC found the ad to be too "controversial." The ad simply show the three presidential candidates making commitments to close "gun-show loopholes" and then various mayors calling for them to be closed.
features each of the three leading presidential candidates pledging to make it harder to buy guns at gun shows, and images of three mayors urging viewers to call Congress and ask that a bill closing the "gun-show loophole" be passed. Fox and CNN are airing the ad, yet MSNBC (of all stations) is refusing.
And email from an MSNBC exec reads, "just heard back from legal about your script...unfortunately, we can not accept as it is a controversial issue ad," said the email from the account executive."
